- Driver/mechanic for our truck-- $1200 per month
Making the trip between Nairobi and Boma is an arduous venture – hard on both truck and driver. Due to the nature of this job, truck drivers are paid more than even doctors in Sudan. Between trips, this person would be working on projects at the Boma compound.
- A car or van for our office in Nairobi -- $10,000
- Salaries for teachers at Boma School – $500 per month plus food expenses for each teacher.
- School supplies for students at Boma School – desks, books, paper, school uniforms, etc. - cost is about $250 per child to start school.
- Drilling additional water wells - $15,000 per well
- Fencing our school property - $30,000
- General ongoing expenses include office rental and salaries of two staff people in Nairobi, travel expenses, salaries of Kenyan contractor and Sudanese workers in Boma, construction of additional classrooms and teacher housing in Boma, and expenses for one staff person in the United States.
- Construction of Guest House - $35,000
- Purchase of additional farming tools, seed and hiring a short term agriculturalist to teach farming techniques - cost is undetermined.
