Farming for Peace

Advancing our mission through community development,

the objectives of Farming for Peace are:

  1. To increase food security and to create new assets for the people of Boma.

  2. To provide training and income for 1000 families.

  3. To develop a revenue stream that will allow for complete sustainability.

  4. To use the surplus to build and operate 10 new schools and hospitals in Boma State and beyond.

Project activities include:

  • Planting 750 acres of cash crops like corn and beans.

  • Planting 250,000 eucalyptus grandis trees to develop a long-term revenue stream.

  • Planting 5000 fruit trees to improve the long-term food security of the people in Boma.

Sustainability can be reached after 5 years generating over $1,000,000 annually through:

  • Selling eucalyptus trees for electrical and construction poles.

  • Selling the cash crops to markets in other parts of South Sudan.

  • Manufacturing and selling eucalyptus oil as a mosquito repellent.

Surplus will be used to support 100 schools and hospitals throughout South Sudan.

In order to develop this sustainable program, SEA Partners intends to raise $3.5 million to provide hope through Farming for Peace.
